I've often been accused of having just that... "Champagne Tastes and a Beer Budget." This little corner of the web will be home to recipes, tips, and money-saving strategies that I have had success with while living on one income in a world that says it can't be done. :)

Recipe : Soft Garlic Breadsticks
I snagged this one from AllRecipes, here: http://allrecipes.com//Recipe-Tools/Print/Recipe.aspx?RecipeID=118557 They turned out quite good, but I would choose to increase the garlic if making them again.
Soft Garlic Breadsticks
Ingredients:
2-1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast (1 pkg)
1 1/8 cups water (70 to 80 degrees F)
2 tablespoons olive or canola oil
3 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
2 tablespoons sugar
3 teaspoons garlic powder
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
3/4 teaspoon minced fresh basil
3 cups bread flour
about 1/4 cup garlic butter, melted
approx 1/2 cup shredded cheese - mozzarella, parmesan, and/or cheddar
Dissolve yeast in warm water and let rest until foamy. Mix oil, cheese, sugar, garlic powder, salt and basil in a large bowl. Add yeast. Add flour one cup at a time, mixing well. Turn out on a floured surface and knead until smooth, the dough should be soft but not sticky. Cover and let rest in a warm place until doubled, about one hour.
Punch down and divide into 12-18 pieces. Roll into logs and arrange on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, or lightly greased. Brush each with melted butter. Sprinkle with shredded cheese.
Bake at 350 degrees for 18-22 minutes until lightly browned. Brush lightly with melted butter while still warm. Best served hot.
