I've often been accused of having just that... "Champagne Tastes and a Beer Budget." This little corner of the web will be home to recipes, tips, and money-saving strategies that I have had success with while living on one income in a world that says it can't be done. :)

Recipe : Cinnamon Swirl Bread
Can you say, yum? Let me just say that this bread is a thing of beauty when toasted with butter melted all over it....
So... how to do it? This is so easy. Go back to yesterday's post and make a batch of bread dough. Or use your favorite recipe. You can make it by hand or use your bread machine's dough cycle. After the first raise, roll out the dough for one loaf into a rectangle 8-9" wide. The length of your rectangle is decided by how much cinnamon you want swirled in your bread - but aim for having the dough be no more than an inch thick. Less if you want a lot of swirling.
Mix a half-cup of brown or white sugar with a tablespoon or so of cinnamon. Sprinkle over the surface of the dough. Roll up tightly, tuck the ends under and place in a lightly greased loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees until the loaf is evenly browned, it sounds hollow when tapped on, and your house smells divine.
Brush the top with butter for a nice, soft crust and extra flavor.
Don't bother waiting til it's fully cooled before slicing ;)
